Confronted by a Sea of Worries? Fear Not.

Exodus 14:21

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided…

There Are Different Kinds of Seas

The sea is a source of ancient mystery. A symbol of the unknown, water is a primary barrier and at one time it separated the known from the unknown worlds. Men looked to the Heavens for guidance in navigating its mysteries until we were able to take to the skies and rapidly travel the globe. Sometimes troubles in this life are as deep, dark and mysterious as the ocean. We stand before them, our mouths open in unbelief at the absolute complexities of paths we are given to walk in life.

When You Stand Before an Ocean of Worries, Fear Not

Followers of the Most High God need not fear the darkest night or the deepest ocean. Through faith we know that the Lord can do for us what He did for ancient Israel. He can drive back our seas of ignorance, sickness, poverty and despair “with a strong east wind.” He turns our oceans of impossibilities “into dry land.”

We need not be afraid when we don’t see any signs of the Lord coming to our rescue. Sometimes He gives us a pillar of cloud during the day. But the waters that parted the red sea came at night. When you doubt that God is working in your situations, remember, the wind came. The water turned to dry ground. The people crossed over to the other side. The waters came back together and destroyed the pursuing enemy. Regardless of what your problems are, you need not stay awake worrying. The winds that parted the sea came at night: So sleep in confidence and know that God is working on your deliverance, your freedom, and your peace.

Until we meet again: “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might!” (Ephesians 6:10).
