The Word for Today Is #Authority

God creates every human being, but being created by God doesn’t automatically make everyone His child. God’s children have a trusting relationship with their Father. They believe in HIm. They receive and welcome His love and forgiveness, and they rely upon Him for their daily needs. This gives true believers the authority or right/ power/ privilege to call themselves “children-of-God.” The word for today is #authority:

But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name— John 1:12-13 Amplified Bible (AMP)

There is a big difference between consenting that God exists, and welcoming Him into your heart and life. There is a big difference between knowing that your grand-mother trusted God and prayed to Him on your behalf, and trusting God for yourself. Is there anything you’re NOT trusting God for today? How have you demonstrated your trust in Him recently? If you are a child of God, what should you be doing differently today? Think about it.

Until next time, “Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might!”

Your friend in Christ,
