Truth Be told, Hollywood is the last place one would expect to find a Christian. I first met Brandon Wyse at a networking event in LA. I had prayed to meet Christians while on the West Coast on my way to London, and the Lord answered my prayer by sending Brandon and his manager, Michele Wagoner. I found them to be delightful, sincere believers, who were kind enough to take me to pick up my passport and then drop me off at LAX. Brandon had given me 2 of his screen plays to read while on the overnight flight, and I must say that after reading them I was convinced that I had the next “Wizard of Oz” and “Citizen Kane” in my briefcase. The article below gives you a peak into the trajectory that brought Brandon Wyse from the ‘hood in Chicago to Hollywood. Check it out!

About Brandon Wyse

Brandon Wyse

Gifted God-fearing Brandon Wyse blazes a screenwriting trail for others to follow.

Americans, as we know, love success stories and this is a truly remarkable and touching story that gives hope and inspiration to those who feel they’ve run out of chances. Brandon grew up in a small Chicago suburb. His childhood was marred by traumatic events, which led to bad choices at a young age. His mother committed suicide when he was 9. His father died of cancer when he was 12. With a need for belonging, he turned to gang life. Despite having an I.Q. of 165, Brandon Wyse embraced the ultra-fast life of gangs and the underground party/drug scene, overlooking his own high-profile ecstasy ring.

Brandon became a leader of the Cicero Insane Vice Lords, one of the very few white leaders of an all black gang, then moved on to the notorious brotherhood known as the Latin Kings. He was in and out of prison for 10 years on charges of aggravated arson, burglary and delivering cocaine. But after serving 10 years in and out of prison, Brandon realized there had to be more to life than this.

Writing provided an outlet for the many voices in his head. He decided to write & direct his way into Hollywood. He also turned to spiritual healing and turned his life over to God. Brandon’s faith in God has pulled him out of that lifestyle.

Currently, Brandon has written a novel entitled, “God’s Playing Chess”. It was published in 2007, but he is refining and editing and looking to have it republished in 2012. He has just finished one of four volumes of his own life autobiography known as, “Auto-Biography of a Nobody”.

He has written 15 screenplays a year for the past 3 years totaling a whopping 45 screenplays. His skill set has been utilized by high profile clients such as Ving Rhames, legendary heavyweight boxing Champion Ken Norton, as well as developing a script for actor, Ron Perlman.

Brandon was diagnosed with bipolar and personality disorder, and instead of using them as a hindrance or a crutch, he uses them to make writing that’s real and in depth. Brandon feels his own mental disorders are what help push him forward and keep him going. Brandon is striving for a more positive lifestyle, even with all the demons from his past haunting him. Today, Wyse is currently chairman of his own motion picture development/ production company, Bi-Polar Productions.

Brandon wants to be an “inspiration” to others that feel they have had a rough life, and feel like gang life is the only option. Despite all he has endured, he stays positive with his dream and vision. He hopes those who want out of the gang life will take this as…”Words from the Wyse”.
