King James Version (KJV)
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
The arguments concerning the origin of the universe and the visible & invisible worlds are numerous and varied. I can’t say that I understand it all, but what I can and do say is that as a scientist I have found no evidence to contraindicate the Bible’s description of creation. Genesis 1:1 says that “In the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth..” The Bible says there as a beginning, and the Big Bang theory echoes the word “beginning.” I look at creation through the eyes of faith and consent with my natural mind that there is intelligent design to the worlds that we see and do not see. The pictures sent to earth by the Hubble telescope, that are shared with the world by NASA, reveal part of creation that we cannot see. I am thankful for these images, these proofs of the work that the Lord has already done, and I marvel at the promise of the world to come. Think about it and enjoy the ride.
Seeing the works of creation, and the many images from outer space, we can be confident that the universe was not created by man, and that we worship the God of the universe. We know that the knowledge of mankind is profound, but that the wisdom of God is beyond comprehension and measure. Knowing that there are many voices that seek to disconnect the Almighty from creation, what then in my prayer? My prayer is this: Most gracious and loving Heavenly Father, Lord of Creation and Master of the universe and all that is seen and unseen, I praise your matchless and holy name for the mighty works you have done, are doing, and will continue to do. Lord forgive me for the times of ignorance when I have esteemed the knowledge and power of others higher than Yours. Help me Lord, to know my place in your creation. Help me to seek your will and wisdom. Grant me eyes to see and heart to know that it is Your glory that the Heavens declare. May my life and all the work that I do likewise declare Your glory and show forth Your love and mercy. These things I ask in the mighty and precious name of our Savior Jesus Christ Who reigns with You in glory. Amen and Amen.
