“Pear of Great Price” by Verneda Lights. Every soul is priceless.
September 11, 2001 marked the beginning of my life as an artist. My first drawing instrument was a mouse, not a pencil or a paint brush. My first art exhibit, “Beauty for Ashes: A 911 Art Memorial” went online in 2 weeks after the Twin Towers fell. The digital painting featured here is called “Pearl of Great Price.” It is one of the first digital art pieces I created in memory of 911. The Bible verses that go with this digital painting are:
Matthew 13:45-46, King James Version (KJV)
45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: 46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
I chose this verse because each life lost on 911 was of inestimable value. “Pearl of Great Price” is featured in the Field of Vision, New York art exhibit.
