then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and olive oil.
The love of God is gentle and wooing, like a song. When summoned by Him, we often run, because He is so powerful. We make the mistake of casting the Lord in the image of powerful men, who use their power to abuse.
Being pursued by God is not the rape of Europa. He has no desire to see us helpless and abased, though helpless we surely are. The Lord rejoices in our creation, and delights in what He can create in and through us. The love of God has infinite strength, yet He “joys over” us “with singing,” (Zephaniah 3:17) like a mother rejoicing and dancing with her beautiful infant in her arms.
The Love of God is pure. Like sunshine on our souls it stimulates growth and healing. His blessings spill over from our being, flowing through our minds, hands, and feet, touching everything around us. Like a fertile garden, our work prospers.
The love of God purifies, turning us into salt and light. Our words inspire others with good food for their souls, and when we are gone, our presence is savored, delighted in. Treasured for its cleansing. Desired for its healing.
Where the children of the Most High walk, the sweet aroma of Jesus travels in the parted air, like jasmine on a summer night, sweet as the song of morning birds before flight.
The love of God imparts lessons. With His touch comes wisdom and knowledge.
The love of God brings blessings, gentle as the rain.
The love of God gives us the courage to sacrifice, for Jesus gave His life so than we can know and embrace God’s love.
