Joy is elusive because live in perilous times. New sorrows spring forth from all directions every day. Messages of hate abound, but so do messages of love. To live in love and in an authentic purpose is a high calling that is not easy. E-graphX Omnimedia salutes those who, everyday, choose joy and life, determined to work on their purpose in a Godly light. Today, we salute our client, Jerry Dorsey. Jerry is a boxer whose career in the sports arena almost ended when he sustained severe neck and body injuries in a trucking accident.
Jerry Dorsey held on to his faith and worked diligently to recover from quadriplegia. Now he is the proud founder and owner of his own business: JD Sports and Recovery.
Doctors Gave No Hope for Recovery
Doctors gave him no hope of ever being able to move his hands, arms, feet, and legs, again. They told him that he would spend the rest of his life on his back, being cared for by others. They told him he should be satisfied with just being alive. But Jerry had faith. He had a praying mother, and neighbors (including my mother), who prayed with his mother for him.
Jerry Dorsey Hung Onto Faith
Buoyed by faith, Jerry Dorsey hung on to faith. He prayed often. He had hope. He made up his mind to be more than just alive. He decided to LIVE. Marshaling his skills as a boxer and leveraging mind-body intuition, he gradually regained the use of all his limbs and by the will and breath of the Almighty One, he learned to walk again. He bought a truck that he loves to drive. He came to E-graphX for a website, and he wanted to start a business.
An Idea Without a Plan Is a Dream
As business and design specialists, we built Jerry’s website and developed a strategic plan to turn his dreams into reality. Yesterday, I’m proud to say, I was at his side when he got the license for his business: JD Sports & Recovery. The photo below shows Jerry Dorsey, standing joyful, strong, and delighted to have his business license! YAY!! My advice for you today is: No matter what your circumstances are, have faith. Dig deep into that which you love. Every day, choose joy, & move forward!
