Psalms 56:8 (KJV)                                                                                                                       Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?

Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.

Many are the times it has been my fate to wander. We live in times of great migrations of the soul, where families are built up and dissolved by absence of trust and the burden of psychological woes. Jobs come and go. Friendships, like money, change hands, and like birds, they often fly away. I have known all these risks of life since the beginning of my journeys. But the word of the LORD has kept me safe and warm in dark and perilous places, at times when hope was alive, yet burning dimly in my quiet watchful heart. I can truly say to the Lord “Your hand upon my shoulder is my comfort and confidence of victory. No sorrow have I known, that you did not foresee, even long ago when I had no thought of future miseries. Every dark path have You recorded. Because You comforted me. I have been able bend down to the brokenhearted righteous and tell them ‘God sees your precious tears, and have placed them in His bottle.’ What a joy to see the hope in their eyes. Father, You have always walked with me, even as you promised. You never left. You never abandoned. You never forsook. You never forgot your promises. I am even in your mind. My “walls are continually before You. You have engraven me on the palms of your hands.” (Isaiah 49:16) Selah. May God’s word be your song in the house of your pilgrimage.

Until we meet again: “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” (Ephesians 6:10)
