Touch Not Mine Anointed (1 Chronicles 16:22)

A father touches his child's hand.

Touch can be gentle or harsh, wounding or healing.

The word for today is “touch:”

The Bible speaks often about touch. People can touch your body, mind, heart, or spirit. As you move through your days, you can experience touch that is kind or hateful, wounding or healing. Words “touch” us everyday. They can make us smile or break our hearts. There will be times when people speak ill to or of you. In the face of physical or verbal abuse, you can feel defenseless. One of the benefits of prayer, is that you can tell the Lord about the things that hurt you, whether it’s physical, verbal, psychological, or emotional. Those who touch God’s people harmfully, face consequences. The Bible has this to say to people who think they can harm God’s folk with impunity:

“Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.” (1 Chronicles 16:22, NIV)

If you are experiencing harmful touch, take action (talk to trusted family members, pastor, file a report at work, call the police) make moves for safety, and at all times, pray for guidance, protection, and help.

Until we meet again: “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might!” (Ephesians 6:10).
