See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.
Mistakes are seed-beds of frustration that can make your soul despair. Standing in the rubble of failed relationships, business, and finances, you often wonder if you’ll ever get over what went wrong much less figure it out. People who know the Lord don’t have to live in regret and despair because God promises His children new life through faith in Christ Jesus. By the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit, Believers are given the power to die to their old self of sin and brazenness and be reborn into a life of righteousness and light in Christ. After being born again, you have the right to confess your sins, and you will be forgiven. Along with forgiveness, the Lord gives us a chance to start again. Encounters with new things of God are an essential part of the Christian life.
Like precious seeds in a garden, your new life in Christ has to be carefully tended. Seeds of the new life in Christ should be rooted in the rich soil of truth and watered daily with the word of God. Like the harvest, we have to store the word of God in our minds and hearts, so that they are available to encourage us in the things of God and remind us of His ways and will. The word of God is also our weapon against the wiles of the enemy of our souls who traffics in despair.
Today, if your life is in a state of disrepair, take heart. Be encouraged because Jesus specializes in new life. His blessings are new every morning. His “new things” will astonish you and strengthen your faith, so that you will live in righteous anticipation of the ways God will make in your wilderness and the streams He causes to grow in your wasteland.
