The Word for Today Is #Mercy

Mercy is kindness shown to those who don’t deserve it, and may not even appreciate it. In many ways mercy is a kindness owed, because loving God and our neighbor is a commandment. We do good deeds and show kindness to others and ourselves because we love the Lord. For the most part, the world around us is merciless. In the United States, many conservative politicians work tirelessly to pass laws that show unkindness to millions. This is not the will of God, and those who claim the name of Jesus should live a life that shows love, kindness, and mercy to others. This is our duty, because the Lord’s mercy towards us is so abundant. It flows like a mighty river “from everlasting to everlasting.” The word for today is #mercy:

But the mercy and loving-kindness of the Lord are from everlasting to everlasting upon those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, and His righteousness is to children’s children— To such as keep His covenant [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying it] and to those who [earnestly] remember His commandments to do them [imprinting them on their hearts]. Psalm 103:17-18 AMP

What are some ways that you can show mercy today? Think about it. Do it.

Amen?

Until we meet again, “Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might.”
