Just as there are many different types of fruit bearing trees, there are many different kinds of wisdom. Wisdom is peculiar to the arena and spirit it addresses: There is a wisdom for how to steal, kill, lie, make war, commit adultery, and how to carry out many heinous acts. The wisdom of these things defiles: It is disruptive and leads to destruction. But, the wisdom that comes from our Heavenly Father is different. Unlike worldly wisdom, the wisdom that comes from Heaven is “first of all #pure,” which is our word for today.
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. James 3:17-18 NIV
When seeking wisdom, ask God first.
