The Word for Today is #Second

English: Resurrection of Christ

The “Second Coming, and the Rapture” have mystified people since the dawn of Christianity. Non-believers wrestle with the very idea of sin being something bad at all, much less eternally damning. Because our God is holy, sin is a very big thing indeed. It is such a big deal that He sent His “only begotten Son” (John 3:16) as the perfect sacrifice to take away the sin of the world.

Jesus came to Earth as a poor child who had a feeding trough for His crib. He died and rose again, conquering death, Hell, and the devil and his army. He ascended into Heaven, where He now sits at the right hand of God the Father. He abides with us now, through His Holy Spirit, Who helps us Christians navigate this wicked, dangerous world.

But that’s not all. Jesus will most definitely be coming back, to judge this world, which will be destroyed. But, that God, He will remove His people first. Like a loving parent who lifts their child out of harm’s way, Jesus will take us away to Heaven before the apocalyptic destruction of the Earth and all that’s evil. This is known as the Rapture, and Amen, it ain’t no fairy tale! Cause when God makes a promise, He keeps it. Jesus is coming a second time, which is a cause for great gladness. The word for today is #second:

so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. , Hebrews 9:28,  NIV

So, “Go tell it on the mountain,” and until the next time: “Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might.”
