Hebrews 1:1-3 (KJV)

1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Jesus’ Resume

Our resumes are the official documents that list our work experiences and qualifications in a way that shows we can be trusted to do what is required to get the job done. Having eternal life, being the Son of God, and Son of Man, functioning as a High Priest forever and the title of First Born of the Resurrection, are just some of Jesus’ qualifications for the job of Messiah and Savior of the World. Having all power, and having made everything that was ever made, qualifies Jesus as Master of the Universe(s). Jesus also had people skills like compassion, empathy, love, respect, willingness to communicate, and forgiveness. All these qualities prove that Jesus is able to save and help us in all areas of our lives.

Our Savior has such a magnificent list of gifts and accomplishments, some of which are listed in today’s reading:

He speaks to us for and of the Father.

He is appointed heir of all things.

He is the brightness of the glory and express image of God.
He upholds all things by the word of His power.
He purged our sins.
He sits at the right hand of God the Father.

Everybody needs a savior. Jesus is the only one with the qualifications to do the job, for real. With Jesus as our Savior, we lack nothing. Those who love Jesus have every reason to be confident in their salvation, and sure of their protection. Put away your fears and worries, today, knowing that Jesus has all power to shepherd us wisely and lovingly every day we walk this earth. His blessings, like the dew, are new every morning. Great is His faithfulness!

Until we meet again: “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” (Ephesians 6:10)
