The Word for Today Is #Narrow

Christians are often accused of being narrow-minded, but that is not the case. There are narrow- minded people who obscure and profane the love of God, which is wide and deep. These people call themselves Christians, but their actions are anything but. Then there are true Christians who follow Biblical doctrine and make their choices according to it. They refuse the “freedom” to be self important. They refuse to demonize or oppress others, because they love and obey God while loving and respecting their neighbors. The way of Christ is narrow, but the way of the true Christian is not narrow-mindedness. The Bible tells us that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no man comes to the Father but by Him (John 14:6). This criteria is narrow because it is specific. But within the bounds of following Jesus, there is unlimited freedom to worship God, and to love others. The road to Jesus is narrow, but in Christ, there are boundless opportunities to go about doing good and live a joyful life filled with hope. The word for today is #narrow:

[ The Narrow and Wide Gates ] “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13-14 NIV

What road are you traveling on today? Is it broad or narrow? If you’re on the broad road to destruction, isn’t it time you turned around? If you’re on the narrow road that leads to life, what have to done to warn those headed for destruction?

Until we meet again, “Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might!”
